Mathematics, STEM, and Robotics After School Program in Orange County, Irvine, and Los Angeles

Before we start, we have to mention the following. In contrast to most STEM teachers and after-school program organizers who do not have significant university-level and real-life industry experience, we have more than 15 years of experience in working, teaching, and doing research at the top universities in the world. We also have real-life industry experience with robotics, artificial intelligence, mathematics, physics, and similar STEM topics. We are led by Aleksandar Haber, PhD, who is a world-class expert in the fields of robotics, mechanical engineering, and artificial intelligence. What do we do?

We are organizing weekday and weekend afterschool programs and courses in Irvine, Los Angeles, and Orange County. We have several courses that might spark your interest and that might be aligned with your needs. We are also organizing a custom course depending on the student’s interests. Below are some examples of courses and after-school programs we offer.

AP Exam Preparation and Preparation for College Physics, STEM, and Mathematics classes

Our university-level teaching experience shows that most of students are not prepared to take college-level physics, STEM, and mathematics classes. Even A-grade high-school students might experience difficulties during their first year of calculus, mathematics, and physics classes. This is partly because of the fact that mathematics and physics is often not properly taught in high school and partly because some teachers easily give good grades which might induce an impression in a student that he knows mathematics or physics well. However, the reality is that the knowledge is not adequate. Consequently, such a student might experience challenges in following university-level math and physics classes. Some students get disappointed and immediately drop after only the first semester.

After School Program and Bootcamp in Robotics, 3D Printing, Coding, and Artificial Intelligence

Today, we live in a rapidly changing world where the knowledge of coding, robotics, and artificial intelligence is a requirement for a number of professions, such as engineers, computer scientists, physicians, surgeons, dentists, artists, and even lawyers! Independently of your age or the age of your child you should immediately start obtaining knowledge in these important subjects.

We organize a weekend robotics, coding, drone building, and artificial intelligence after school programs and boot camps in Irvine, Orange County, and Los Angeles. The classes are hands on, and you do not need to have any previous experience with robotics, coding, drone building, and artificial intelligence. All you need is your laptop, and we will provide additional equipment. If you do not have a laptop, we can borrow you a computer for the duration of the class.

Below are some examples of the classes we are organizing.

Program 1: Basics of Coding and Artificial Intelligence

In this program, you will learn the basics of coding and artificial intelligence. You will learn

  • How to code in Python programming language
  • How to use artificial intelligence, machine learning, and camera to recognize people faces, objects, and to track them
  • How to use artificial intelligence to automatically read the text, and to recognize license plates on cars and street signs
  • How to use artificial intelligence to create artificial images and videos that are almost realistic
  • How to use and design artificial intelligence systems that will command a robot or a mechanical device

Program 2: Elementary robotics and Building a Simple Robot Using 3D Printing, Arduino, & Raspberry Pi

You will learn the following topics

  • Basics of Arduino and Raspberry Pi controllers which are the brains of robots.
  • Basics of motors, actuators, and sensors that are used to power the robots
  • Build your own mobile robot by using motors, wheels, sensors, batteries, etc.
  • Equip the robot with obstacle avoidance ability by using lidar and a camera
  • Implement control algorithms and visualize the robot’s motion on your computer

Program 3: Building a Robotic Drone from Scratch

In this program, you will learn how to build a drone from scratch! You will learn how to

  • Design a drone frame
  • Attach drone motors and propellers to the drone such that the drone can fly
  • Attach a microcomputer to the drone that acts as a brain of the drone
  • Remotely control the drone
  • Track the position of the drone on your computer
